rock climbing @ chris.allport

see rock.  climb rock.  conquer rock.

Here are some pictures from my 2008 Father's Day trip to Earth Treks

Here's a shot of me on my last climb.  First, I had to pop over that overhang, climb up the crack (that you can't see), slide around the wall, and then head straight up.

This one took some effort, but it was incredibly awesome!

Here is Erin looking totally awesome as she nears the top of her climb.

She negotiated this one like a pro!  One lurch away from the last hand hold, she decided that she didn't like being this high, but she reached down deep, and took that final step!

She didn't mention heights the rest of the day!

Here's Belle wanting to get a piece of the climbing action.  Here she is at Sesame Place practicing her mad climbing skills.

It won't be long before she's joining Erin and I on the rocks!

I think we are born with some things imprinted on our souls.  Climbing is just one of those things for me.

In college I got the chance to try climbing.  I was immediately hooked.  I bought a harness, shoes, and a rope.

Then I moved to Southern Maryland and there's not much to climb down there.

Fortunately, we are a little closer to hills and mountains and much closer to a climbing gym.
